First off, how the hell do you get kills with that POS MBT LAW, it does so little damage from just about any angle, even if you flank them.

It's so frustrating, I can barely get any points with the damn thing because all my shots never seem to make the killing blow.

For the record, I'm aiming for direct hits as well, not airburst.

I tried it and to me it sucks, it's weird sometimes it locked onto vehicles nobody was in. Screwed me on the Flood map on conquest, I aimed at a Boat on E that little park with bridge, and, the missile instead shot up and straight down at the parked truck with machine gun that nobody was in

It doesn't matter where you aim, the missile does this weird thing where it tries to go top down when it get's near the vehicle. You can't really get a good direct hit on anything. I know it's frustrating I hate the damn thing too. My next unlock is the RPG so I'll be glad when I have that.

To get kills with it you just need to be lucky really. Let other people knock down the health some and then you try and go for the kill.

This was a response I got on the forums, which is rather intriguing.

For you, the mbt law might be underpowered, however for the makority of tank drivers, it really is the bane of their existance.
This is due to the fact that after you have unlocked all the tank stuff like we have, your tank pretty much becomes a mobile fortress
We can negate damage from literally anything and keep the tank rolling, the javalins and sraws rewuire the user to be precise and also vulnerable, the rpg 7 is so slow i can have a kid and aend him to highschool by the time it reaches me. And the smaw does less dmg than mbt law and no one uses it.

The MBT LAW is the only real anti-uber tank in the game, it goes through everything that a tank can have: reactive armor? Doesnt matter, active armor? Pft
The crap 25dmg per shot you are seeing right now becomes a very real threat mostly cus we cannot negate it at all.

The LAW is very easy to reload and you do not have to aim much to get a hit, which all results in a superb anti-tank missile

However, it does do horrible dmg to anything else, so dont expect to shoot people with it

Thats the default one right?

I've never really tried to take out anything with it. Only have taken pot shots at distant vehicles to give my armour guys a better chance against them, or suppress some targets behind cover.

reading through that copied forum text suggest something interesting. Though, I have NO idea whether it actually is true or not.

You don't kill with it solo. It's the easiest launcher in the game, just get a few people using them.

Tactic in Planetside 2, get a lot of the weakest launcher in the game, that can track ground and air in exchange for the lowest damage, and mass fire.

Doesn't matter how powerful the strongest launcher is, if 3 weak ones can beat it.

A full load of 5 LAWs is nearly nothing. 3 firing at the same time means tanks get cleared fast. No lock on, no way for the tank to protect from it (unless the shooter's shot is wide), just point and click.

How do you foresee DICE balancing this if it's this powerful?

What? You started this topic about how weak and useless it is. Now it is overpowered?

Well, the stance of this thread has changed from low damage rant to consistent damage worry(?) that could make other launchers in long run.

I didn't think of it that way, everybody starts with it and it does 25 damage regardless of armor, seems not bad

edit: what happened to a direct back shot being a disable though?

The MBT-LAW is incapable of doing crit shots from my experience. So maybe that's the balancing factor?

I found one HUGE flaw with MBT LAW, while I was flying Little Bird (before either a server crash or admin kicking me for taking attacker's abandoned chopper).

If you move at a sufficient speed, the short automatic top attack that MBT LAW cannot hit you. So basically, as long as you are moving while piloting a chopper, you will not get hit by MBT LAW (whether laser locked or free fired).

This has been my experience when firing on laser locked aircraft or just firing at them period. The MBT LAW will explode but you won't get any hit markers, lock or no lock Mad
